Gladys C. Froning,90, of Waterloo, formerly of La Porte City, died Wednesday morning, March 29, 1995, in Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, after an illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City. Graveside services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Huisman Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour before service time Saturday at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Deppe and husband Robert of Ames and Janet Ohm and husband Jerry of Palo; 11 grandchildren: Linda Moody and husband Tom of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Susan Oakland and husband Steve of Burlington, Vt., Heidi Adams and husband Louie of Cedar Falls, Joel Ohm and wife Ingrid of Kent, Wash., Sarah Berriman and husband Gary of Duluth, Minn., Chad Ohm of Federal Way, Wash., Barbara Deppe of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Michael Deppe and wife Rachel of St. Paul, Minn., Roberta Deppe of Winfield, Kan., Lon Ohm and wife Shelly of Seattle and Melanie Ohm of Des Moines; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Jack in infancy; and a sister, Perle Crabtree.

Born Sept. 18, 1904, in Wright County, to Herman and Lucy Iverson Schroder, she married Lonsdale L. Froning on June 21, 1923, in Webster City. He died Sept. 27, 1960. Gladys had resided in La Porte City for 48 years and had been a partner with her husband in agribusiness. She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City, and Quota Club, Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to the family.
