Betty L. Gatewood. 73, of 3304 Southland St. SW, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in her residence following a sudden illness. Services - 1 p.m. Tuesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Glenn Hunt of Eden United Church of Christ. Burial - Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after noon Tuesday at the chapel. Surviving is a daughter, Pamela Sillick and companion Mike Lambert of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Darrell Gatewood and wife Pam of Cedar Rapids and Ricky Gatewood; two grandchildren, Justin Dean Gatewood and Ashley Marie Gatewood; and many relatives in Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; a grandson, Ryan Sillick; and numerous brothers and sisters. Betty was born on May 13, 1930, in Wright County, to Ray and Amanda Johnson Richards, and was married to Donald W. Gatewood on May 9, 1948, in Webster City. She formerly was employed by the Souvenir Corp. and currently was with the Valley Apparel Co. A memorial fund in her name has been established. "Mommy's now with daddy, together again."
