LOUISE MAY LOTH, 94, was called home to Heaven on Sunday, November 27, 2005. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 304 3rd Avenue N.E., Belmond. The Rev. Rod Hopp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery.

Louise was born November 17, 1911, to Charles and Mary (Pabbeldt) Haupt on a farm southeast of Belmond, which had been homesteaded by her grandfather, August Haupt, in 1875. She attended country schools, graduated from Belmond High School, and then went on to Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She had also been a member of Kappa Alpha Beta Sorority. She taught grades 1-8 in a one room country school near Kanawha. She met the love of her life, Louis Loth, at a dance in 1936. Both were quick to say that it was "love at first sight" and were inseparable for 66 years until his death in 2002. Louise was the consummate 'farmer's wife'. As newlyweds, they worked as farm hands for Nels Anderson near Clear Lake in order to save money for the machinery they would need. Together, Louie and Louise farmed the land that she was born and raised on, moving there in 1940, and raised two daughters, Mary Lou and Karen. The family loved to listen to stories of early farm life, and were in awe of the hardships they endured in order to raise a family on the land she loved so. One of her proudest moments was when the farm was named a "Century Farm" in August of 1995. After retiring from farming in 1967, Louie and Louise loved to travel and went on numerous fishing trips to Minnesota and Canada. They also wintered for many years in Avon Park, Florida, and eventually moved into town in 1992. Louise loved a good game of "Hearts", fishing, shopping, gardening, reading and especially mowing lawn. She had a life long passion for horses. Her ultimate joy in later years was spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and was always ready to go on any adventure they planned. She was adored by all.

Those left to cherish her memory and rejoice in her peace are her daughter, Karen Rasmussen, Des Moines; grandchildren, Rodney (Nikki) Rasmussen, Des Moines; Robbie (Callie) Rasmussen, Des Moines; LuJeanne (Ron) Fink, Belmond; Jolene Robbins, Belmond; Bradley (Georgia) Robbins, Forest City; Brian (Glenda) Robbins, Clear Lake; great-grandchildren, Loren and Amanda Robbins; Sara, Tiffany and Bob Fink; Sammy Robbins and Tyler Bersetti. Greeting her in Heaven is her beloved husband, Louie Loth; daughter, Mary Lou Robbins-Wells; parents, Charles and Mary; and brothers, Irving and Claire Haupt. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Wright County Hospice or the donor's choice. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond.
