Alzada (Jahnke) Combs, 83, of Eagle Grove, died Tuesday (March 11, 1997) at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 18 West near Mason City. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Willim Funeral Home. Alzada (Jahnke) Combs was born Nov. 2, 1913 in LuVerne. Survivors include two sons, Leonard Jahnke, Eagle Grove, and Earl Jahnke, Ionia, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Armour Mullin of Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.

Alzada Mullin was born November 2, 1913, to Benjamin and Anna Larson Mullin at Lu Verne, Iowa, where she attended Lu Verne Schools. On August 8, 1934, she was united in marriage to Awalt Jahnke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Kanawha and Klemme before moving to Mason City. Mr. Jahnke died on September 28, 1970. On August 12, 1977, she was united in marriage to Johnnie Combs at Mason City. They moved to Clear Lake in 1977 and lived in Texas during the winters. Mr. Combs died in April of 1990, and she moved to Eagle Grove. She made drapes for the Sears Company in Mason City out of her home for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove.

Alzada Jahnke Combs died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of 83.

Survivors include her two sons, Leonard Jahnke and wife, Carol, Eagle Grove, and Earl Jahnke and wife, Althea, Ionia, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Armour Mullin and wife, Arlene, Ames; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Bill Kem officiating. Burial was at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 1997, in the Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 18 West near Mason City.

Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
