Mildred Berry, 86 of Papillion, Nebraska formerly of Fort Dodge died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Monarch Retirement Community in Papillion. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, IA. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Survivors include daughter, Lynda and husband Howard Larson of Papillion, NE; three grandsons, Jeff and wife Suzanne Larson of Murdock, NE; Greg and wife Melissa Larson of Missouri Valley, IA; and Chris Larson of Omaha, NE; six great grandchildren, Barry Jr. & Dustin Larson of Greenville, TX; Jeremy Maxfield, Lauren & Madalyn Larson of Missouri Valley, IA; and Blake Larson of Murdock, NE. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brother, Laverne; and grandson, Barry.

Mildred Berry was born on a farm near Woolstock, Iowa on October 15, 1920 to Fred and Anna Koestner. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1939, attended business school and became a stenographer. In 1940 she was married to Franklin Berry from Renwick, IA where they lived until Mr. Berry joined the Army Air Corp. After the war the couple moved to Duncombe, Fort Dodge then Badger, IA where they owned and operated the Berry Corner Grocery Store for 18 years together before moving back to Fort Dodge where Mr. Berry passed away in 1993. For the past several years Mildred was living in Papillion, NE, at the Monarch Retirement Community near her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Berry was an avid bowler and she was a member of the Fort Dodge Women’s Bowling Association. She always loved to play card games and continued to play daily and get involved with potlucks and other social activities. Mildred also kept busy with many clubs, including the Hospital Round Robin 500 Club. She served on many committees as a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and currently was attending the First Baptist Church in Papillion with her family.
