Loretta Holthaus, 82, of West Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Clarion, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services for Loretta Holthaus will be Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion with Fr. Chris Podhjsky officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation for Loretta Holthaus will be Friday, January 12, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion.

Loretta Holthaus, daughter of Egbert and Martha Paul, was born on October 29, 1924 in Manly, Iowa. She graduated from Mason City High School. After high school she worked for the F.B.I in Washington, D.C. On February 13, 1956 Loretta was united in marriage to Clark Holthaus and moved to Clarion. She helped her husband with their business, All Star Pro Golf Inc. Loretta was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. She enjoyed traveling, music, golf, theatre and spending time with her family and friends.

Loretta is survived by daughters, Annette Saunders and her husband Joe of Denver, Colo., Gail Bormann and her husband John, Renee Hendricks and her husband Peter, and Wendy Unger and her husband Randy, all of Waukee, Iowa; son, Clark and his wife Denise of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sisters, Shirley Kalvig and her husband Don of Northwood, Iowa, Evelyn Flick of Mason City; brother Egbert Paul; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clark and an infant daughter.
