Peter Andrew Steenblock, 89, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in Bishop, California where he had lived the past 30 years. A short service was held for his interment on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Immanuel Reformed Church Cemetery near Belmond.

Peter was born on November 28, 1914 in Belmond, the son of Harm and Ida Bohning Steenblock. He graduated from the Belmond High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-46. He married Kay Wendt of Los Angeles and they had three sons. She died of cancer. Later he married Pauline Beech.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; sisters, Annie Meints, Lena Loats and Ida Buseman; and brothers, Herbert and Peter (and Andrew in infancy. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; sons, Alfred and Peter J. of California and Jeremiah of Idaho; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Hill of Belmond; nephews, Harold Buseman of Belmond and Eric Buseman of Clive.
