Mary Harty, 71, of Belmond, died on Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Belmond Medical Center.Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 24, at the United Methodist Church in Belmond, with Pastor Janet Wearda officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary was born on March 11, 1932 in Eagle Grove, the daughter of Tennes and Inga Larson Pederson. She graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1949. She married Gary Harty at the Belmond Methodist Church Parsonage on December 26, 1951.
Mary was employed at several jobs, including the Belmond Hospital, Neo-Data, North Iowa Woods, and Belmond Labs. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and father-in-law, Maynard.
