Richard D. Christensen, 68, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, died on Thursday, April 21, 2005, as a result of a motorcycle/deer accident. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 25, at the Community Baptist Church in Edwardsburg, with Pastor Thaddeus Stout officiating.

Richard was born on June 8, 1936 in Belmond, the son of George and Mabel (Reed) Christensen. He grew up on the family farm. Richard married Alice J. Koppernagel on July 8, 1956 in Belmond. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the U. S. and Japan. They moved to Edwardsburg in 1960 where he was employed by the Adlake and Miles Laboratory, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church and the Lighthouse Keepers. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, motorcycle riding and gardening.

Preceding him in death were his father; brother, Lloyd; sister, Shirley; and mother-in-law, Betty Lepper. Survivors are his wife, Alice; daughters, Julie (Eryn) Quinn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Susan (Scott) Teter of Cassopolis, Michigan and Dawn (Derek) Frederickson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Mark (Dee) Christensen of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Makenzie and Joshua Quinn and Ashli, Austin and Zachary Teter; mother, Mabel Christensen of Britt; sisters, Velma (Louis) Yender and Marlys (Larry) Ridley, all of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and brothers, Robert (Caroline) Christensen and Ray Christensen, all of Britt.
