Norma Marie Bohman, 71, of Belmond, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Burial was in the Alexander Cemetery.

Norma Marie, the daughter of Wilson and Grace Olson Stearns, was born on November 16, 1933 in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. She grew up in Walnut Grove, St Peter and Belmond, graduating from the Belmond High School. Norma married John Bohman in 1950. They made their home near Alexander where John worked on the family farm. Norma worked at the CAL School as a Librarian. A lover of education and learning, Norma, at age 39, attended and graduated from NIACC in Mason City. She was very proud of the fact that she worked for NIACC after her graduation. Norma helped with the GED program, re-education and re-training of adults.
Norma is remembered for her fondness of reading, politics and computers. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Kristen Elizabeth; son-in-law, David Harvison; and brothers-in-law, Arnie Olson and Bernard Bohman. Norma is survived by her daughter, Melinda Harvison of Houston, Texas; son, Russel of Alexander; grandchildren, Kristen, Heather, Sarah and Jody; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Muriel Knapp of Belle Vista, Arkansas and Ardys Lloyd of Long Beach, California; brother, Charles (Jean) Stearns of Belle Vista; and sisters-in-law, Alberta Bohman and Effie Olson.
