Fannie Lindaman, 94, formerly of Waterloo, and most recently a resident of the Belmond Care Center, died Jan. 3, 2006. Services were held Sunday, Jan. 7 at Grace Reformed Church in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories. Fannie Flesner was born January 2, 1912 in rural Grundy County, the daughter of Henry and Rixtelena Emkes Flesner. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wellsburg. On April 29, 1936 she married Fred J. Lindaman at the family home in Aplington. They made their home in Waterloo where they were charter members of Grace Reformed Church. Fannie, a homemaker, was active in Reformed Church Women and was treasurer of the Sunday school for many years. Fannie took great joy in entertaining friends and family in her home, and there was always room for those who had no family. There were many special people in Fannie's life whom she loved and cared for. She made certain she had each one's favorite food when they came to visit. In 1997 Fannie moved to the Belmond Health Care Center.

Fannie was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; sister Gesina Tjaden; and brother Harm Flesner. Survivors include son Richard (Joan) Lindaman of Humboldt; daughter Fonda (Doug) Thompsen of Belmond; sisters Rena DeBoer and Henrietta Nevenhoven, both of Aplington; grandchildren Matt (Kara) Lindaman of Holmen, WI, Ben (Erica) Lindaman of Clarion, Jon Lindaman of Urbandale, Ashley (Michael) Jorgensen of Ames, and Lindsay Thompsen of Johnston; and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Marissa and Cole Lindaman.
