Jeffery Allen Dahle, Jr., 23, formerly of Belmond, died May 19, 2006 at his home in Britt. Services were held May 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond with Rev. Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery. Jeffery was born September 30, 1982 in Mason City, the son of Jeffery Allen Dahle, Sr. and Michelle (James) Dahle. He was baptized at the Garner United Methodist Church as a young child. He attended Belmond-Klemme Community Schools and had worked in various occupations, including Winnebago Industries. Jeff was soft-hearted and gentle in nature. He loved his family and friends and had a special fondness for his cats. He had a special place in the heart of his Aunt Melissa, who loved to spoil him. In earlier years one might find him preparing for an adventuresome ride on his roller blades. Jeff enjoyed shooting hoops, tinkering, and spending time on computers. He always had an eye out to be sure his younger siblings were okay. He was a big kid at heart who looked forward to a friendly but competitive battle with his dad or anyone else who would play him in a favorite video game. He liked to eat junk food and listen to his favorite tunes.

Jeff was preceded in death by his great grandfathers Ted Mathiesen and Floyd Byrd. Survivors include his mother Michelle (Kurt) Mitthun of Belmond; father Jeffery Allen, Sr. and companion Laurie Swearingen of Britt; paternal grandparents Glen and Delores Ingersoll of Mason City; maternal grandparents Steve and Lois James of Kewanee, IL; step-grandparents Marlin and Mary Mitthun of Thompson; maternal great grandmothers Eveline Bauer of Hebron, NE and Ann Byrd of Shafter, CA; brother Jordan Hansen and sisters Cassie Hansen and Lexie Hartmann, all of Belmond; aunts Carol Wiseman of Los Angeles, CA, Melissa (Jim) Rottinghaus of Belmond, Laurie (Sam) Athanisou of Garner, and Shelly (Brad) Frein of Garner; uncles Kevin (Kathy) Dahle of Fortworth, TX, Kenny (Pam) Russell of Le Center, MN, Michael James of Kewanee, and Mark James and companion Missy Kelly of Toulon, IL; and cousins Skye Rottinghaus and Nick Colvin of Belmond.
