John Frederick "Jack" Fulton, 77, Belmond died July 9, 2006 at the Belmond Medical Center. A private funeral service will be held. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane S. A Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Jack was born December 22, 1928 to Fred and Georgia (Frohling) Fulton in Belmond. He graduated from Belmond High School in 1947 and attended the University of Minnesota College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1950. He served in the National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Jack and Shirley Lieuwen were married February 19, 1954. He worked for his father and mother as a funeral director, drove the ambulance, and served as a school bus driver. Jack purchased Fulton Funeral Home in 1963 and he and Shirley built a new funeral home in 1976. Jack retired in 1993, selling the business to Roger Ewing. Jack and Shirley moved to an acreage near Belmond. Jack was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and a 50-year member of Iowa Funeral Directors Association.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruth Wilmarth; and father-in-law George Lieuwen. He is survived by his wife; sister Nelda (Irwin) Hardy of Osage; brother-in-law Chuck (Betty) Wilmarth of Belmond; mother-in-law Jennie Lieuwen of Belmond; and sister-in-law Alice Bryant of Edina, MN.
