Elaine Baker, 84, Hampton, died August 14, 2006 at the hospital in Hampton. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran in Hampton. Elaine was born October 10, 1921 in Belmond, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Friesleben) Pletsch. She attended Alexander country schools and graduated from Belmond High School in 1939. She married Richard Baker in 1941 in Belmond. Survivors include her husband; sons Kirk (Michele) Baker of Utah and Dave Baker of Council Bluffs; daughter Melinda (Jordan) Sobel of Oklahoma; brother Wilbur "Bud" (Gerry) Pletsch of Alexander; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
