Claire William REGAL

Claire Regal, 83, died September 28 at his home in Cokato, MN. Services were held October 4 at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with Rev. Steven Olson and Rev. John Peterson officiating. Casketbearers were Tex Hapala, Mike Jaskowiack, Lloyd Johnson, Earl Nordstrom, Dean Nordstrom and Roland Kinseth. Interment was in the Dassel Cemetery.

Claire Warren, son of William and Clara (Nordstrom) Regal, was born on June 28, 1923 in Lake Jennie Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. He was baptized at home and confirmed at the Lake Jennie Covenant Church. He graduated from the Dassel High School in 1941. On November 22, 1947, Claire marrried Deloris Anderson at the First Lutheran Church (Gethsemane) in Dassel. They made their home in Dassel from 1947 until 1968 where Claire worked for the Haapala Seed Company. In 1968 they moved to Belmond where Claire worked for ACCO Seeds as production manager. In 1982 they moved to Cokato where Claire worked for Cargill Seeds in Minnetonka as plant production manager, overseeing 13 plants in different states. Claire loved to play baseball and had been a member of the Dassel baseball team and was assistant manager. He was a member of the Dassel Volunteer Fire Department from 1949 until 1968, being named lieutenant in 1962 and chief in 1966. He served on the Dassel school board for many years. He was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church where he was a member of the church council and an usher. Claire enjoyed flowers and took great pride in watching his garden grow. He loved a perfect lawn. There were no weeds in his lawn or garden. Most of all he took great pride in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent many hours traveling to his grandchildren's sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Reynold and Robert. Claire is survived by his wife; children Ron (Nancy) Regal of Las Vegas, Carol McLaughlin of Salt Lake City, Sue (Ron) Fuller of Watseka, IL and Joel Regal of Las Vegas; grandchildren Molly McLaughlin, Josh (Lisa) Fuller, Matt (Susan) Fuller, Sara (Tyler) Davis and Brittney Regal; great grandchildren Gabe, Tyler, Emily and Dylan; and brother Ralph (Nancy) Regal of Bradenton, FL.
