Ileen Ruth Wolters, 70, Ames, died October 19, 2006 at Israel Family Hospice House. Services were held the morning of October 23 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames with Rev. Randy Gehring officiating. Burial was that afternoon in the Meservey Cemetery. Ileen Ruth was born October 14, 1936 in Belmond, the daughter of Harlan and Pearl (Johnson) Johnson. She lived in Sheffield and Mason City. She married Larry Wolters on June 25, 1961 in Sheffield, and they lived in Ames. Ileen Ruth was a member of Bethesda Lutheran, the Ames Breakfast Lions, helped with the Scandinavian Coffee, and served on the Friendship Committee. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; sons Jeff (Ann) of New Jersey and Kevin (Cindy) of Oklahoma; brother Harley Johnson; and grandchildren Jacquelyn, Katelyn, Emily, Bryce and Blake.
