Wilma Nadine Hamilton, the daughter of Wilmer and Lottie P. (Tharp) Cochran, was born February 1, 1928 on the family farm in rural Greene County, Iowa.. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Churdan High School in 1945.On May 18, 1947, Wilma was united in marriage with Jack Hamilton. The couple lived in Ralston, where Wilma worked as a secretary. The also lived in Webster City and moved to Eagle Grove in 1955. Wilma worked as a church secretary, elementary school secretary and for the Eagle Grove Library. Wilma and Jack moved to Ruskin, Florida in 1986 and returned to Eagle Grove in 1996. Wilma was a member of the United Methodist Church and church circle. She was also active with Beta Sigma Phi in Eagle Grove.

Wilma, 78, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2006, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Maurice Cochran, sisters, Ruth Laudenback and Cleopha Kinnan and grandson, Lonney Ingram. Survivors include her husband Jack Hamilton of Eagle Grove; three children: Michael Hamilton and wife Susan of Des Moines, Keith Hamilton and wife Kathy of Eagle Grove and Carol Ingram of Eagle Grove; five grandchildren: Steven, Aaron, Elaine and Kellie Hamilton and Skyler Ingram all of Eagle Grove; sister, Eloise Morlan of Cedar Falls and sister-in-law, Fern Cochran of Carroll.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the Eagle Grove Memorial Library.
