October 16, 2004The funeral for Wilma C. Scott, 82, of Fremont will be 10 a.m. Saturday at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont.She died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Lenox, Iowa. She grew up in Lenox and was a 1940 graduate of Lenox High School. She attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Mo., and graduated in 1944. She taught high school in Dows, Iowa, for two years and then moved to North Bend in 1946. She married R. Willard Scott on Aug. 8, 1946, in Lenox. She and her husband farmed northwest of North Bend until retiring in 1986.. They moved to Fremont in 1987. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont and was a member of the church circle and Presbyterian Women. She was a former member of United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, the church circle and Presbyterian Women, and served as an elder and taught Sunday school. She was a former member of The Presbyterian Church in Lenox. She was a 60-year member and past matron of Ruth Chapter 119, Order of Eastern Star at North Bend. She was a 50-year member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter CT of North Bend. Survivors include: her husband; two sons, Rod (and wife, Barbara) Scott of North Bend and Tom (and wife, Judie) Scott of Schuyler; a daughter, Martha (Mrs. Steve) Piper of Loveland, Colo.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. The Rev. William Thornton will officiate Saturday's service. A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend. Memorials may be given to The Presbyterian Church at Fremont and North Bend.
