Tonganoxie, Kansas -- Services for Harold Raymond Melia, 80, Tonganoxie, will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Congregational Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Leavenworth. Mr. Melia died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born July 9, 1917, in Bucklin, the son of John A. and Sarah L. Heath Melia. He moved to Tonganoxie in 1973 from Trimble, Mo. He had been employed as a manager and project director for Farmland Industries in Kansas City, Mo., retiring in 1980 after 34 years. Mr. Melia was a member of the First Congregational Church in Tonganoxie and was a 1941 gradate of Kansas State University. He married Lois M. Donaldson on Oct. 5, 1947, in Woolstock, Iowa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Patrick K., Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Kevin H., Prairie Village; two daughters, Margaret E., Kansas City, Kan., and Susan A. Melia-Hancock, Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Clyde, Dodge City, and Royce, Arriba, Colo.; three sisters, Alice Hampson, Dighton, Zelma Simpson, Colorado Springs, and Ruth E. Norton, Dodge City; and three grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. The family suggests memorials to the church.
