Marie Ann Doughan, 101, of Webster City, formerly of Wesley, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Crestview Senior Living in Webster City. A funeral Mass was held Friday, November 12th at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Webster City. Father John R. Flaherty officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wesley.

Marie Ann Doughan was born January 28, 1903, on a farm near Wesley, the daughter of John and Anna Loebig. She was united in marriage to Elmer Doughan on June 20, 1922, by Father Dominic Lickteig, cousin of the bride. The couple lived on a farm near Stilson and then moved to a farm near Wesley and later moving to a their home in Wesley. Marie enjoyed her family and many friends and the center of her life was her family and faith. She was active in the St. Joseph's Parish, including a membership in the Altar Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Sister Mary K. Doughan of Clarion and Audrey Walmsley of Webster City; one sister, Mildred Arndorfer of Algona; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer on June 21, 1976; one daughter, Sister Adele in 1989; one son-in-law, J.D. Walmsley; and one brother, Victor Loebig.
