DEATH CLAIMS CITIZEN--Mrs. John M. Fisher Answers Summons

Mrs. Marian Woodard Fisher was born at Lomira, Wis., Jan. 6, 1861. She came to Iowa with her parents 53 years ago. They lived at Alden for a year and then moved to Wright County, where they settled on a farm in Troy township. On June 25, 1884, she was united in marriage to John Fisher. They went to Muscatine County to live but remained there only a short time, then returned to Troy township. On March 1, 1911, they moved to Eagle Grove where they have since lived. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fisher: Raymond M. of Eagle Grove, Ethel Evans of Woolstock, Maude, Mrs. Stella Atwood and Ralph W. of Eagle Grove. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Troy Methodist Episcopal Church and joined in Eagle Grove under the pastorate of the Rev. C. E. Chapler. She has been in failing health since 1905, when she became afflicted with asthma. Since that time she has received the kindest of treatment and most thoughtful attention from her daughter, Maude, who has been untiring in her devotion to her mother. Mrs. Fisher quietly passed away on the evening of Oct. 12, having reached the age of 61 years, 3 months, and 12 days. Besides members of her immediate family already mentioned, she leaves, to mourn their loss, three brothers: Frank Woodard of Hollywood, Calif., John and Richard of Eagle Grove; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Porter of Eagle Grove; two half sisters, Mrs. Ed Dignan of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Will Cline of Colo, Iowa; also five grandchildren: Marvin, Glen and Helen Fisher; Frederick Evans and Wilma Atwood. Marian Jean Atwood, who recently died, was Mrs. Fisher's namesake. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church on Sunday at 2:30. The Rev. W. G. Muhlman preached the funeral sermon. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
