Jennie Marie Buck, 90, of Salem (Marion Co.) died of natural causes on June 14, 2000. She was born in Humboldt, Iowa on October 23, 1909. She graduated from Humboldt High School, then worked for Iowa Public Service in Humboldt and Clarion, Iowa. She married Floyd Buck in Humbolt in November 4, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1991. They moved from Iowa to Klamath Falls in 1942 and to Yachats (Lincoln Co.) in 1974. She had been a resident of Salem for the past several years. She was a member of the Yachats community Presbyterian Church, Royal Neighbors, Degree of Honor, and Eastern Star. (Yachats is pronounced "Ya-hots".) She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Jane Buck of Corvallis; daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Harold Richter of Salem and Linda and Al Gunn of Klamath Falls; a sister, Eva Olsen of South Dakota; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Bateman Funeral Home of Newport. Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Yachats. Contributions are suggested to the church. Bateman Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
