MERRITT, CLIFFORD L., 76, of Clearwater, died Thursday (Oct. 11, 2001) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, Florida. He was born in Clarion, Iowa, and came here in 1990. He was an Army Air Forces pilot during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Nicole; a daughter, Candace Williams; a son, Stephen; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Abbey Affordable Cremation and Funeral Service, Largo.
