Helen Elizabeth (Pearl) Weber, 86, formerly of Pontiac, Illinois died Friday (Sept. 27, 2002) at LifeCare Center of Charleston, S.C., after a brief illness. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Music Fund at 219 N. Chicago St., Pontiac, IL 61764.

She was born in Clarion, Iowa on Nov. 19, 1915, a daughter of John and Nola (Shoop) Pearl. She married Orville Wesley Weber March 25, 1945 in Chenoa. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy (Jim) Ferro, Summerville, S.C; and Linda Thaxton, Roseville, Calif.; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Ferro, Summerville; Kimberly (Danny) Ray, Charleston, S.C.; Jayson and Josh Thaxton, both of Roseville, Calif.; and Jennifer Thaxton-Fiterre, Diamond Springs, Calif.; and great-granddaughters Hannah and Haley Thaxton-Fiterre, Diamond Springs. She graduated from Chenoa High School, after which she was manager of Brosmer Department Store in Chenoa for five years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac, Illinois. She was a craft lady for the Church Bazaar for over 15 years. She was a 68 year member of Royal Neighbors of America. She also attended Summerville Presbyterian Church in Summerville, SC.
