TORESDAHL, MARTIN, CHESTNUTT, WECHSLER, ORNESS, HANZLICEK

James E. Toresdahl, 80, of South Dennis, New Jersey, died Sunday at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital in Middle Township. Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, he moved to Sea Isle City in 1946. Mr. Toresdahl owned and operated the Toresdahl Plumbing and Heating Company of Sea Isle City from 1948 to 1974. Mr. Toresdahl moved to South Dennis in 1979. A Charter Member of the Sea Isle City VFW Post #1963, he also served as a volunteer fireman for many years. A Veteran of the Army Air Corps during WWII, Mr. Toresdahl served as a crew chief in the China-Burma -India Theatre.

He is survived by his wife, Anita, of South Dennis; three children and their spouses, Marie Martin and John of Longport, James D. of Estes Park, Colorado, Marilyn Chestnutt and Michael of Wilmington, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Danielle Wechsler of Estes Park, Colorado; and also by two sisters, Adeline Orness of Rocky River, Ohio and Marsine Hanzlicek of Austin, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin of Austin, Minnesota. Relatives and friends are invited to his prayer service on Thursday at 11:00am, St. Joseph's Church, 44th and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, where friends may call from 10:00am. Interment: Cape May County Veteran's Cem. Under the direction of Krause and Dinan, South Dennis. Family requests donations to either Dennis Township Rescue Squad, 595 Dennisville Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 or Holy Redeemer, 1801 North Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
