Russ Anderson, 62, Winger, North Dakota died Friday Sept. 25, 1992 at home. Russ Anderson was born Oct. 4 1929, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Ivan and Irma Anderson. He grew up in Boone, Iowa and graduated from high school there in 1947. He attended Iowa State University in Ames before entering the U.S. Air Force in 1948. He was a staff sergeant during the Korean War and, after his discharge, a J.C. Penney store manager. He lived in Willmar, Minn., and then moved to St. Paul in the late 1950s. He was an on-the-road sales representative for Coats and Clarks Sales for 20 years and moved to Moorhead in 1962. He married Bette Lecy July 10, 1982, in Winger. They lived in Winger, where he was city clerk from 1986 until his death.

Survivors are his wife; daughters, Nancy (Mrs. Bill) Chester, Burnsville, Minn., and Susan (Mrs. David) Lokken, Palm Dessert, Calif., stepdaughters, Juanita (Mrs. Charles) Stuhaug, Bagley, Minn., and Karen Beth (Mrs. Scott) Schimanski, McIntosh, Minn., stepson, Tim Lecy, Mahnomen, Minn., 11 grandchildren; and brothers, Delvere and Daryl, both of Boone, and Ronnie, Lincoln, Neb. Services: 10 a.m. Monday in Calvary Lutheran Church, Winger. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Mattson Funeral Home, Winger, and one hour before services in the church. Burial Winger Cemetery.
