Bernadine D. "Bernie" Kaplan of Gainesville died October 13, 2006 at Haven Hospice. She was 83. Mrs. Kaplan was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and moved to Gainesville in 1988 from Coconut Creek, Fl. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and sewing. She was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation, Friendship Circle, Sisterhood, and Hadassah. Mrs. Kaplan is survived by her Husband of 60 years, David Kaplan of Gainesville; Daughter, Betty Rippe and husband Eddie of Gainesville; Sons, Marc Kaplan and partner Peter Draper of Detroit, MI; Andrew Kaplan and wife Cheryl of Gainesville; Grandchildren, Russell Block and wife Merly, Eli and Sally Kaplan, all of Gainesville. Funeral Services for Mrs. Kaplan will be held Monday, October 16, 2006. 11:00AM at Williams-Thomas Downtown. Burial will be attended by the family only in Memorial Park Central.
