Mildred Theresa Bradley quietly and peacefully left from this life on September 24, 2006, at Valley Vue Nursing Home in Armstrong. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armstrong, Iowa, with Father Jerry Cosgrove, celebrant, presiding. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Henry-Olsen Funeral Chapel in Armstrong, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olsen Funeral Chapel in Armstrong, Iowa.

Mildred was born August 13, 1917, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Neugirg) McDermott. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1935 as valedictorian of her class. She married Richard Newton Bradley on June 5, 1937, in Eagle Grove. Mildred was a homemaker and worked in Gannon's Coffee Shop in Clarion, Iowa for several years while raising her family. She also worked for Colston Drug Store, was a housekeeper for the priest at St. Mary's Catholic Church and did babysitting for several children while living in Armstrong. She was an avid reader, loved dogs and playing cards and games with her grandchildren. She was a member of church circles at St. Joseph's Church in Clarion and St. Mary's in Armstrong. She loved to read the scriptures at church. Mildred was a member of Senior Citizens and Lady's VFW Auxiliary in Armstrong. She worked at Valley Vue Care Center as an employee and volunteer. She was also a BABES volunteer through a program at the Armstrong school where she read to the grade school children.

Those left to cherish and celebrate her life and memory are her daughter, Sharon Henry Stubbs of Coralville, Iowa; her son, Michael Bradley of Campbell, California; her daughter-in-law, Monica Bradley of Tucson, Arizona; her daughter, (Mary) Beth Conklin and her husband, Steve of Iowa City; her son, Art Bradley and his wife, Mary of Armstrong; daughter, Anne Shoopman and fiance Carl Stocke of Ripon, California; Mildred had eleven grandchildren, David, Michelle, Aaron, Allison, Shannon, Adam, Shawn, Shane, Brett, Mandy and Samantha; she also had eleven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jaclyn, Madason, Manchester, Macobeigh, Macen, Montgomereigh, Dylan, Cody, Colton and Hayden. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her eight brothers and sisters; her husband, Richard; her son, Dick Bradley; and a grandson, Dan Henry.
