Dotha Lee Schwab, 73, passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2005 at home from cardiac arrest. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at Waukee United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Waukee Cemetery.

Dotha was born in Williams, Iowa to Virgil and Myrna Martin. She graduated from Dows High School in 1949. Dotha married James Schwab on May 25, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Waukee in 1962. She retired from Continental Western Insurance Company in 1997. Dotha was a devoted mother and grandmother; her family was very important to her. Her hobbies included flower gardening, rock collecting and landscaping.

Dotha was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; sisters, Delores Isaacson and Velda McCoy; and brother, John Marlin Martin. She is survived by her children, Linda Schwab, Lonnie (Edith) Schwab and Lynette (Morris) Mason; five grandchildren, Ryan, Lindsay, Spencer, Quentin and Tessa, all of Waukee; sisters, Marcella (Maynard) Meyer, Kay (Milo) Muhlenbruck and Lauretha Martin; and brothers, Keith Martin, Rolland Martin and Bob (Linda) Martin.

Visitation begins after 3 p.m. Thursday at Waukee United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Waukee United Methodist Church.
