Alice Robison, 88, of Parsons died at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at Elmhaven East nursing home, where she had been cared for since January.

She was born Dec. 10, 1913, at Dows, Iowa, to William T. and Amanda (Pehrson) Goodman. The family moved to a farm northeast of Parsons when she was 12 years old. She attended the Stone Palace School and Parsons High School. During World War II and again during the Korean War she was employed at the Kansas Ordnance Plant. She married George O. Robison on Oct. 22, 1930, in Parsons. They lived on the Robison farm northeast of Parsons until the early 1940s, when they purchased a farm on Montana road southeast of Parsons. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1983. After his death she moved to Parsons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parsons, the Center Chapel Club and the East Main Street Mother's Club. She enjoyed playing cards and for many years was a member of a card club of neighbors on Montana road. After moving to Parsons, she was active in SCOOP and AARP and the Thursday and Friday card clubs. She also attended craft classes for senior citizens at Labette Community College.

Survivors are one daughter, Anita Neer and her husband, Leroy Neer of Liberty; three grandchildren, Marty Neer of Coffeyville, Mike Neer and his wife, Susan, of rural Edna, and Sandy Manners and her husband, Galen, of rural Parsons; four great-grandchildren, Monica and Christine Neer of rural Edna and Levi and Lane Manners of rural Parsons; one brother, W.H. Goodman of Winterset, Iowa; and three sisters, Darlene Tucker of Branson, Mo., Clara Goodsell and Virginia Goettsch, both of Casa Grande, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, a brother and a sister.The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Mason officiating. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Parsons.
