Mathilda Haynes, 94, Thief River Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1987, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Oak Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.

Mathilda Erickson was born Sept. 3, 1893, in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert and Inger Erickson. She grew up in Thompson, Iowa, and moved in 1939 to Sanders Township of Pennington County, Minn. She married Joe Anderson, who died in 1941. She later married Joe Haynes. Survivors are a daughter-in-law, Odessa Anderson, Thief River Falls; one granddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Alfred Jensen, Thief River Falls. She was preceded in death by a son, Andy Anderson; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmen, Martin and Tony; and sister, Josie Fadness.
