Elizabeth Hedlund, 88, formerly of Laporte, Minn., Bemidji, died Saturday, May 21, 1988, in North County Hospital, Bemidji. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral begins in the funeral home.

Elizabeth Ammerman was born July 9, 1899, in Dows, Iowa, daughter of George and Anna Ammerman. She went to school in Dows and lived there until she moved to Laporte in 1927. On Nov. 5, 1927, she married Helmer Hedlund in Park Rapids, Minn. They farmed near Laporte until they moved into town in 1968. Her husband died on April 18, 1975. She lived at her home in Laporte until she moved to the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bemidji, in 1978.

Survivors are sons, Robert, Cass Lake, Minn., Ragner, Walker, Minn.; daughters, Yvonne (Mrs. Lee) Andrews, Cottage Grove Minn., Lola (Mrs. Chester) Coffelt, St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sisters Minnie Martin, Clarion, Iowa, Edna Rassmusen, Delano, Minn., and brother, Charles Ammerman, Anaconda, Mont. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
