Martha Troop Miles, April 16, 2006 at St. Ann's Hospital after a brief illness. Survived by spouse, Joseph Miles; son, Davison (Donna) Miles; daughters, Martha Miles Stephens and Melanie Miles (Thomas Stanton); grandchildren, Brian Miles, Emily Stephens, and Matthew Stanton; dear friends, James Detrick, Thomas Searson, Jean Wyker Troop; nephews, Eric Troop and Kyle Troop; brother, H. William (Connie) Troop. Preceded in death by parents Horace W. and Alice Troop, and son-in-law Spencer C. Stephens. Martha was actively involved in many community activities: Life time member of Church of the Master, U.M., the Ohio Child Conservation League, both at the local and state level, the Concord Senior Center Discussion Group, the Otterbein Women's Club, and English as a second language. She had an accomplished professional life including teaching at Marion Harding High School, Eagle Grove Iowa Community College, Indiana Central College, Columbus Business University. She was church secretary for several years at the Church of the Savior, U.M. She held degrees from Otterbein College and The Ohio State University with additional work at Northwestern University. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Master, U.M., 24 N. Grove St., Westerville, where the family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to the A.L.S. Association. Arrangements handled by the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville.
