Dorothy Regina Gross Hanson, 85, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Edina, Minnesota and Sun City West, Arizona, died on Saturday, August 12, 2006. Born and raised in Eagle Grove, Iowa, Dorothy met her husband Henry Hanson of 63 years while she was studying Home Economics at Iowa State University. She was a member of Delta Zeta, Sigma Alpha Iota and Theta Sigma Pi. A devoted homemaker and gourmet cook, Dorothy was also active as a leader in Girl Scouting, PEO, and AAUW. She was a talented calligrapher and enjoyed international travel and sailing. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Henry, who died on March 14, 2006. She is survived by four children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Sun City West, AZ on August 19, 2006. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Desert Garden United Church, 18818 N. 128th Avenue, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
