Frances Katharyn (Klinger) Evans, 83, of Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Memorial services were held on Monday, July 18 at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Mary K. Green and Pastor Paul Akin officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service.

Frances Katharyn Klinger was born July 18, 1921 in Clarion, the daughter of Olen and Viola (Manchester) Klinger. She was raised and educated near Goldfield, graduating from the Goldfield High School in 1938. She attended A.I.B. in Des Moines, receiving training as a court stenographer. Frances used her training to transcribe for the United States Air Force at Randall Airfield in San Antonio, Texas. On December 9, 1945, Frances and Frederick E. Evans were united in marriage at Goldfield. They made their home on the Evans family farm near Woolstock. Frances was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for and loving her children and grandchildren. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1985. Frances was a member of the United Methodist Church in Woolstock and Eagle Grove, serving in the United Methodist Women, choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, music, dancing and was a 4-H Leader. She had a love of horses, meeting her husband, Fred, while showing Belgians.

Frances is survived by her husband, Fred of Eagle Grove; three daughters, Judy Evans-McDowell of Canyon Country, California, Constance Landgraf and husband, James of Montgomery, Texas and Melody Amonson and husband, Kelly of Woolstock; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Harlen and Kristie; two sisters, Majel Boring and Iola Akin; and one brother, Ty Klinger.
