Alice K. Trausch was born February 24, 1925 at Mallard, the daughter of Erasmus Ross and Christine (Murphy) Studer. In 1934, the family moved to a farm near Clarion. She attended country school. On June 5, 1943, Alice was united in marriage to Francis Trausch at the St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion. Alice had a very strong spirit. She never gave up on a sick or lame animal. Farming was everything to her. Alice was raised on a farm and she and Francis farmed. Her heart was always in the farm. She was a life long member of the St. John's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Church was very important to Alice.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Meyer and husband, John of Clarion; two grandsons; one sister, Mary Hilton of Pocahontas; her special girls, Ellen Olson of Des Moines and Sue Ann Hollingsworth of Perry; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 1990; and five brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Wright County Humane Society.
