Thelma Westre, 85, died April 17 in Rippey, Iowa. Services were held April 22 at the Rippey United Methodist Church with interment in the Rippey Cemetery. Thelma Marie was born March 8, 1917 in Dows, one of eight children of Ralph and Gunda Evans Moore. She attended school in Popejoy and Dows. She married Arthur Westre, and the couple had three children. Thelma and her children moved to Bagley in 1945. She moved to Rippey in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen Didio and Doris Blankenship. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Barbara) Moore of California, daughters, Sue (Dwight) Muir of Rippey and Shari (Doug) Reuvers of California; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Anderson of Dows; brothers, Don (June) Moore of Belmond, Max (Barbara) Moore of Williams, Herb (Colleen) Moore of Williams, and Walter (Marlys) Moore of Dows.
