Lynette Penning Baker passed away February 19, 1996 from causes incident to age. Born April 3, 1902 to Heit and Nancy Penning in Rowan, Iowa. Married C.R. Minister. Later divorced. Married Chester I. Baker in 1938. He died in June of 1962. She graduated with a teaching degree from Northern Iowa University. She taught Kindergarten in Wyoming, Iowa and Salt Lake City. During World War II, she volunteered as a Red Cross Nurses' Aide in Salt Lake hospitals. She is a member of Wasatch Presbyterian Church.
Survived by her son, C. Rodney (Pat) Minister; granddaughters, Victoria DiPietro, Andrea Bower and Pamela Coles; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday 12 noon, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make contributions to Wasatch Presbyterian Church or Intermountain Unit of the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
