Arch W. Boge, 90, 2025 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington, died at 8:58 a.m. yesterday (Sept. 5, 1989) in the Martin Health Center, Bloomington. He was a retired advertising salesman. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Bert Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home. He was born June 28, 1899, in Wright County, Iowa, to David and Emma Hagenmeister Boge. He was married to Margaret Springer on Aug. 1, 1935, in Bloomington. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Robert W., 2016 E. Taylor St., Bloomington, and David S., Mount Pleasant, Utah; one brother, Harold, Sparks, Nev.; three sisters, Alice Boge and Charlotte Olson, both of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Agnes Petersen, Mount Dora, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington; Arts and Crafts Masonic Lodge No. 1017; the Bloomington Consistory; and a former member of the Bloomington Exchange Club. He served on the Corn Belt Council of the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was a graduate of Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, and retired after 60 years as an advertising salesman with Brown and Bigelow and later with the Buckley Advertising Co. Memorials may be made to the church.
