Funeral services for Louise Patterson were held Wednesday, January 14 in Waterloo with committal services at 3:00 p.m., at the Clarion Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established. The Locke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Louise Patterson, 96, of 3602 S. Union Rd., Cedar Falls, passed away on January 10, 2004 after a three month battle with cancer.

Louise was born February 17, 1907 in South Dakota, grew up in western Minnesota and moved to Iowa, south east of Clarion when she married in 1927. They moved to rural Parkersburg in 1956 and to rural Cedar Falls in 1976. She was very dedicated to her Lord, her family and to farm life. She was also active with crafts, cards and letters. She is survived by her eight children, Don of Cedar Falls, Dean (Gail) of Washington, Clint (Luanne) of Minnesota, Harlan (Kathy) of Ohio, Lee (Sally) of Clarksville, Jerry of Illinois, John (Margaret) of Cedar Falls and Joan (Gary) Frieling of Wisconsin; 24 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and in addition many relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ted in 1982; an infant daughter; and a grandson.

CEDAR FALLS — Louise Patterson, 96, of 3602 S. Union Road, died at home Saturday Jan. 10, 2004, of cancer. She was born Feb. 17, 1907, in South Dakota. She married Terry S. "Ted" Patterson on July 21, 1927, in Battle Lake, Minn. He died April 21, 1982. Mrs. Patterson grew up in western Minnesota and moved to Iowa when she married in 1927. She was very dedicated to her Lord, her family and to farm life. She overflowed with unconditional love to all she knew, especially her family. She was also active with crafts, cards and letters. Her children express heartfelt gratitude for the tender care given by Cedar Valley Hospice.

Survivors include seven sons: Don, Dean (Gail), Clint (Luanne), Harlan (Kathy), Lee (Sally), Jerry and John (Margaret); a daughter, Joan Gary) Frieling; 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a grandson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial at 3 p.m. in Clarion Cemetery, Clarion. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
