Simone Genevieve Hardinger, age 79 of Ankeny, formerly of Clarion, passed away on January 2, 2004, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Simone Hardinger was born on October 25, 1924 in Belgium. She married Carroll Dayne Hardinger on August 24, 1946 in LeChenay, France. In 1948 they moved to Green City, Missouri and then later made their home in Clarion, Iowa to raise their family. After retirement they moved to Ankeny, to be closer to their children.

Simone is survived by her three sons: James Hardinger and his wife, Maggie of Boone, Richard Hardinger of Ankeny, Gary Hardinger and his wife, Donna of Strong City, Kansas, and one daughter, Kim Shannahan and her finance, Rex Kingery both of Ankeny and one sister, Armande Gouge of LeChenay, France. She has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and five siblings all from France, her husband, Carroll Dayne Hardinger, a granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
