Funeral services for Maxine Koltvet, age 80, of Clarion were held on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the Holmes Lutheran church with Rev. Stanley Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery. Maxine Koltvet died December 26 at the USA Healthcare Center in Clarion. Ewing Dugger Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maxine was born April 11, 1923 to Nels and Bertha (Midland) Koltvet in Wright County. She attended school at Lake #5 and was baptized and confirmed at the Holmes Lutheran Church where she was a life long member. Maxine was afflicted with pneumonia, brain fever and polio as a child and was unable to pursue a career. She spent many years in giving help as needed to her sisters and their families. She is survived by her sister, Naomi Austin of Rochester, Minnesota, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Eveline Andersen, Leona Stavnheim, Ann Koltvet, Bernice Lund and Blanche Thompson; four brothers, Theodore, Benard, Bernard and Stanley.
