Norman Watne, 87, of Eagle Grove, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held Monday, September 15th at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Burial was at the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery. Norman Watne was born November 19, 1915, in Humboldt, the son of Oscar and Inger (Risscon) Watne. He was educated in the Eagle Grove schools. Norman was a life long farmer and Purebred Poland China producer in Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wright County Farm Bureau and served as past Director of the Holmes Coop Elevator. Norman is survived by one sister-in-law, Evelyn Watne of Belmond; eight nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Olaf, John and Tom; and one nephew, Peter.
