Elmer S. Erickson, 88, of Clarion, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003. Funeral services were held Friday, June 20th at the Church of the Nazarene in Clarion. Pastor Lee Gamblin officiated at the 10 a.m. service. Burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.

Elmer S. Erickson was born March 4, 1915 at Holmes, the son of Tobias and Anna (Olson) Erickson. He attended country school. On April 17, 1938, Elmer was united in marriage with Agnes J. Espeland in Eagle Grove. After the couple was married, they lived near Hardy, where Elmer worked for his parents on their farm. After a few years at Hardy, Elmer and Agnes moved to a farm north of Holmes, and began farming on their own. In 1943, they moved to a different acreage south of Holmes and continued farming. In 1956, Elmer and Agnes started Erickson Manufacturing where they produced farm related items and soon after, a large production facility was constructed on the farm where the couple lived. Together, Elmer and Agnes operated the business until they both retired in 1980. Elmer was very active in the Church of the Nazarene.

Elmer is survived by his two children, Elaine Wilson and husband, Maurice; Stanley Erickson and wife, Paula all of Eagle Grove; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Agnes; one daughter, Anita Maasdam; one sister, Selma; and two brothers, Oscar and Ernest
