Wilbert Louis Busse, 85, of Clarion, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at USA Health Care Center, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion is in charge of arrangements. Wilbert will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date at Willim Funeral Home. Wilbert L. Busse was born December 1, 1916, at Waverly, the son of Henry and Minnie Busse. He attended rural school. He earned his high school credits later at the Eagle Grove Community College. He also started his own business, doing electrical wiring and repairing starters. Wilbert served in the U.S. Army for three years in the South Pacific. He delivered gasoline to the military planes in that area. On February 25, 1947, Wilbert Busse and Arletta Leege were united in marriage in Alice, Texas. The couple lived on a farm owned by his father in Bremer County until 1952. The couple then moved to Clarion with their two daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Arletta of Clarion and two daughters, Paula Barnett of Chino, California and Charlotte Busse of Austin, Texas; also two nieces, one from Fargo, North Dakota and one from Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Harold; and one sister-in-law, Viola Busse.

Memorial services for Wilbert Busse will be held Wednesday, June 4th at the First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Rev. Gary Boen will officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Surviving Wilbert is his wife, Arletta; two daughters, Paula Barnett and Charlotte Busse.
