Stella L. Schumacher, 89, of Clarion, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clarion. Rev. David Beckman officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, rural Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Stella L. Kendzior was born January 19, 1912, in Poland, the daughter of Blaze and Bernice Kendzior. At the age of one, she migrated to America with her family. She and Amos Kaufman were married in 1930 and he preceded her in death in 1944. She was later united in marriage to Randall Schumacher on September 18, 1948. Together they farmed in Wright County. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1978.

Stella is survived by three children, Charles Kaufman and wife, Jolene of Moore, Oklahoma, Berniece Nolta and husband, Richard of Fort Dodge, Mark Schumacher and wife, Denise of Clarion; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Adams of Webster City and Jean Kotowicz of Lockporte, Illinois. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Michelle Schumacher; one brother, Walter Kendzior; and one sister, Fran Kucinski.
