Lena Mae Pohlman, 93, of Clarion, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at USA Healthcare in Clarion. Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 19, at Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Lena Mae Lammers was born May 9, 1908, the daughter of Chris and Mena Lammers on a farm located northwest of Clarion. She attended country school and graduated from Clarion High School in 1926. She was a substitute teacher. On March 2, 1927, she and Jelske Pohlman were married in Clarion. Jelske died April 16, 1952. In 1952 she was baptized in the Christian Faith. She continued to farm until 1959. Lena’s cousin, Darwin (Dode) Pohlman helped her continue farming. Lena was a great lover of nature and loved birds, flowers, trees. Lena is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; and two sisters.
