Francis Darwin Rapp, 81, of Clarion, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Hampton Care Center. Funeral services were held Monday, June 11, at Willim Funeral Home, Clarion. Rev. Tim Platt officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Francis Darwin Rapp was born January 29, 1920, in Clarion, the son of John and Nora (Allen) Rapp. Francis attended school in rural Wright County and Clarion High School. He was a member of Clarion Church of Christ since 1948. Francis and Nadine Lindsey were united in marriage August 31, 1941, at the Clarion Church of Christ parsonage. Francis farmed with his father until 1943. Then Francis and Nadine moved to a farm southwest of Clarion where they lived for 31 years. Francis retired in 1975 and the couple moved to Clarion where they lived until his death. Francis spent a lot of time visiting people in the nursing home. He looked after his aunt for nine years at the nursing home. He is survived by his wife, Nadine; one sister, Neva McGrath of High Rolls, New Mexico; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and a brother-in-law, Thomas McGrath.
