LaDonna Duncan, 73, died of acute leukemia Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Wesley United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Rose Blank. Burial: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Alden Cemetery, Alden. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave., Vinton. At LaDonna's request the casket will remain closed.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice or the music department of Wesley United Methodist Church. LaDonna was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Woolstock, Iowa, the only child of Orville and Esther Riley. LaDonna graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1950 and shortly thereafter met her husband, Marlyn. They were united in marriage at the Alden Methodist Church on Sept. 23, 1951. Of this union they were blessed with three children, Judith, Janet and Jon. LaDonna's greatest pleasures in life were her family, her various Cocker Spaniel dogs she owned the past 55 years, her love of music and her piano. She also enjoyed many and various trips to all 50 states, and several trips abroad.

In addition to her husband, Marlyn, she is survived by her children, Judith Mann, Vinton, Janet (Dr. Timothy) Gerhart, Peoria, Ariz., and Jon (Claire) Duncan, Malvern, Pa.; her grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Mann, Omaha, Neb., Shannon (Dan) Rittgers, Spring Hill, Kan., Nathaniel Gerhart, Glendale, Ariz., and Meredith and Christopher Duncan, Malvern, Pa.; and one great-grandchild, Ethan Mann, Omaha, Neb. Preceding her in death were her parents, Orville and Esther Riley.
