David M. Mishler, 65, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at his home in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 18 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. David Marion Mishler, son of Ralph and Hazel Maassen Mishler, was born February 19, 1940 at Fort Dodge. He received his education at Eagle Grove, graduating in 1958. He graduated from Morningside College at Sioux City in1962 with a business degree. On October 20, 1963, he married Sue Elizabeth Mikel at Webster City. The couple resided in the Chicago area, where he was employed Kresge K-Mart. In 1966, they moved west of Blairsburg and started farming with his father. Later they farmed southwest of Williams and east of Woolstock. They moved to Webster City in 2001. Mr. Mishler is survived by his wife, Sue; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Angela Mishler of Webster City; daughter, Brenda Mishler of Urbandale; grandchildren, Riley and McKenzie Mishler; sister, Norma Jean Beecher of Webster City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Mary Strainof LeGrand; one nephew and six nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, past board member of the Blairsburg and Woolstock Cooperatives and was a member of the Woolstock Mutual Telephone Association. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday, July 18 at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
